Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Blue Otter Corporation ("Blue Otter," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our website at teamblueotter.com and the mobile, desktop, and web applications we publish (each, an "App," and together with the website, the "Services"). Use of our Apps is also governed by our End-User License Agreement.
An individual App may describe additional, App-specific practices in the App or its store listing. Those descriptions supplement this policy.
This policy does not apply to software we build for clients and that is published under a client's name. That client's own privacy policy governs those products.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. When you create an account or sign in, we collect your name, email address, and authentication details. If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile information that provider shares with us (typically your name, email address, and a unique identifier). If you use Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email" option, we receive a relay address instead of your email.
- Content you submit. Text, files, images, and other content you enter into an App, including prompts and material you submit to AI-powered features.
- Communications. Information you include when you contact us for support or feedback.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and analytics data. How you interact with the Services, such as screens viewed, features used, and session length.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and performance data, such as the state of the App when a crash occurred, stack traces, and timing information.
- Device information. Device model, operating system and version, App version, language, time zone, and app-instance or installation identifiers. We do not collect your device's advertising identifier, and we do not track you across other companies' apps and websites.
- Website data. On teamblueotter.com, our servers record standard log information (such as IP address and browser type), and the site uses cookies needed for login and site functionality. If you leave a comment, we collect the information shown in the comment form along with your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including creating and authenticating your account;
- process the content you submit, including generating AI Output you request;
- diagnose crashes and bugs, monitor performance, and keep the Services secure;
- understand how the Services are used so we can improve them;
- respond to your requests and communicate with you about the Services; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
3. AI-powered features
Some Apps include features powered by artificial-intelligence models operated by third-party providers. When you use these features, the content needed to fulfill your request (for example, your prompt and any related text or files) is sent to the provider to generate a response. We send only what the feature needs. We use these providers under their business or API terms, which limit their use of the data to providing the service to us. Each App identifies, or will tell you on request, which AI provider it uses.
Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information (such as health, financial, or government-ID information) to AI features unless the App specifically asks for it.
4. How we share information
We share personal information only as follows:
- Service providers. With vendors who process data on our behalf to run the Services, including cloud hosting and authentication (for example, Google Firebase and Google Cloud), analytics and crash reporting (for example, Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics), AI model providers, and website hosting. These providers may use the data only to provide services to us.
- Sign-in providers. When you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, that provider processes your sign-in under its own privacy policy.
- Legal and safety. When we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Blue Otter, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
- With your consent or at your direction.
5. Data retention
We keep account information and content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. After you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days, except where we must keep it longer to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Analytics and crash data are kept for limited periods set in our providers' retention settings. Residual copies may remain in backups for a limited time.
6. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account from within any App that offers accounts (typically under Settings or Account). You can also email hello@teamblueotter.com from the address associated with your account, telling us which App you use, and we will delete your account and associated data. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can also turn off analytics and crash reporting where an App offers that setting, and you can control cookies through your browser. To exercise your rights, contact us at hello@teamblueotter.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
California residents
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA), gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; the right to delete it; the right to correct inaccurate information; and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, for the business purposes described in Section 2:
- identifiers (such as name, email address, and account and app-instance identifiers);
- internet or other electronic network activity (such as usage, analytics, and diagnostic data); and
- content you provide to the Services.
We disclose these categories to the service providers described in Section 4 for business purposes. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would give you a right to limit them under the CCPA. You or an authorized agent may submit a request by emailing hello@teamblueotter.com. We will verify your request by matching information you provide with information in our records.
10. International users
Blue Otter is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the effective date above, and if the changes are material, we will give notice in the Apps or by other reasonable means before they take effect.
